The Apple of my Eye

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hey there!

I have been busy transitioning to my new full time job and I love it! This also gave me time to prepare myself for some stationery I wanted to get out there for my shop. Im truly proud of this stationery set for children. They come in 3 different colors palettes: pink & green, red & green and blue and green. I personalize it by putting the name of the child. I designed the apple myself and can't stop looking at it!

Be sure to check it out here. This would make a great gift for a child. They can use it to scribble on or write on (depending on their age) to give it to their grandparents. This would also be great for a teachers gift!

I got some new designs coming soon, so keep your eyes open!

Spring is here - Cool find for a dollar!

Hey everyone!

Im one of my previous posts about the cool things I found at Target, I mentioned that I love to browse the dollar section for anything my daughter will like, without breaking the bank! Well, after my dentist appointment I stopped by Target next door and yes, another win! I found this very cool little flower pot that comes with a paint brush and 4 paint colors.
It was recommended for children 8 and up, but I thought with my supervision, it would be okay. And so, 20 minutes later here is the final product:

Ok first of all, that is chocolate over her mouth and not paint. Secondly, although she doesn't display the most artistic talent, this pot is the most beautiful thing I seen all week. I loved it so much that I told her that its time to pick a flower from the garden to plant in the pot. She loves it so much, that we gave it its own very home on a window sill that is kid height friendly.

Baby shower with books

I have an unhealthy obession with books. My husband and I talk about if we ever win the lottery that we will buy a new home and in that new home, one room will be lined with bookshelves filled with books. It makes me weak in the knees, like this picture here:

Don't you love it?  I collected a few beautiful photos from Flickr and wanted to share it with you.

So in honor of my most favorite possession in the world, I created a baby shower invitation that encourages guests to bring along a baby/children's book, along with a gift and before the gift opening, the mother can share with everyone the books she received for her little joy. While this idea is not original, I designed this to showcase my love of books and how important it is to teach our youth that reading is a wonderful thing.

Will  be posting it soon to my Etsy store, along with matching thank you cards. Stay on the lookout!

Cheap finds for kids

I love going to Target. Why? Because I love going to the dollar section right near the entrance. I find super things there that I can use for my daughter. Books, toys, coloring books, you name it. Look at these great Sesame Street books I found for 1 dollar each! My daughter is 2 and a half years old and loves them. They are a great learning tool for her. So my daughter gets her quick fix for Sesame Street and mommy gets to work on her Etsy shop. Hope you guys check out Target for super cute things and I promise I don't work for them, lol!

Flickr Photo #2 Pencil vs. Camera

Pencil Vs Camera - 12

I came across this Flickr photo and I had to share it with you. This artist Ben Heine takes a real life scenario and then draws on paper 3/4ths of it. It gives him a chance to recreate the scene his way. I just love some of his creations! Take a look at the interview and other photos of his work here.

Enjoy!

Hard work and sweat

Where have I been for the passed few days or so? Well Just working on my Etsy shop non-stop. I'm trying to get more of my creativity up and it takes a lot out of me!

I have been really inspired recently with baby stuff. I have a daughter and realized that parents love to buy  art for their children's rooms. It personalizes the room but doesnt take the focus away from the rest of the room. That is what I'm trying to do with my art prints. It can co-exist with other things happening in the room.
I am doing a collection of name prints, baby announcements, or some other things.

I have also dabbled in motivational pieces. I want a piece of art that people can buy and hang in a room so when they look back at it, it gives them some motivation. Stay tuned for more of my art. I will post here as soon as I get more done. In the meantime, check out my shop for what I have updated recently.

Bringing back childhood memories

"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" is the newest nursery rhyme art print that I have listed in my shop on Etsy. I wanted to take our childhood and provide it in 8 x 10 art prints that will beautify your kids rooms. This works for a wide spectrum of ages. I also can personalize it with the child's name on the bottom, reading "Madison's Nursery Rhyme".

I'm currently creating more Nursery Rhyme and art prints, so be sure to look out for those soon!

Love is in the air....

Actually its on your walls!

I thought I should share with you, what I have been busy with the passed few days. I opened up my Etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/thestationerysisters. Its digital art prints for your home. Here, take a look at a few of them...
This is a love poem that tells us that love is NOT blind.

I just LOVE this one. The design is so clean and modern and it really delivers the point. This would make a great gift for a nursery.

This is an exclusive print for Valentine's Day, but I think it is good all year around. This print also comes in "Peace, Love & Us" to celebrate love and relationships everyday.

Be sure to check out my Etsy shop for the details and for any prints you need for V-day.
